im honestly so relieved to tell you that work on north hall road is starting next week because the council finally gave us the go ahead. thank you for sticking with this through all the waiting because we actually got it done.

North Hall Road has now been closed for over 9 months, diverting traffic through Patmore End, which is mostly only wide enough for one vehicle.
Despite emails to Essex County Council and our Local MP, there is still no clarity when North Hall Road will be reopened. Essex County Council, Essex Highways, and the Environment Agency have spent 9 months contemplating tender activity for the remedial work. This procrastination affects the daily lives of local people in Patmore End, Ugley, Elsenham, Henham, and surrounding areas.
Please sign this petition supported by Henham, Elsenham, and Ugley Parish Councils in the hope we can collectively encourage Essex County Council, Essex Highways, and the Environment Agency to actually do their job in a timely way and resolve the issues with North Hall Road urgently

This has been a massive pain in the rear, having to constantly get pushed into pot holes by bigger vehicles using the road up to Patmore end. Having lived on North Hall Road for over 30 yrs, I have never had to contend with anything like this.
These works should have been actioned months ago the diversion route is now becoming badly damaged as a lot of stretches of this road are single track. To get to Widdington or Newport now takes much longer and costs much more in fuel. Please get this sorted.
The closure occurs just at the entrance to the drive into North Hall Farm Barns. Traffic having to turn around at the barrier are causing damage to the drive and increasing the risk of further erosion to the river banking. Essex Highways - it's time to get this done!
The traffic resulting from this diversion has damaged the lane and verges badly and also brickwork on my property. The volume and speed of the traffic is dangerous and a noise nuisance. The original problem should have been repaired by now.
North Hall Road must be repaired as a matter of absolute priority. The current diversion is not only inadequate for the volume of traffic, but extremely dangerous. It is only a matter of time before someone is injured or worse.

We as Uttlesford Residents pay Essex County Council 71p in every £1 of our rates and they still cannot keep our country roads open. This particular closure is a disgrace - over 9 months closed and still no definitive opening date is given by ECC
