Final supporters
This petition represents golfers who want the 2017 Peoria Men's City Tournament changed to Friday-Sunday back to back weeks instead of Monday-Saturday. This petition will be distributed to the Peoria Park District board of directors once we reach our goal of 200 signatures.

Times have changed and it is more difficult to schedule an entire week off and then tell your employer you lost and want to come back so as not to lose pay. At one time, the employer let you off with pay and even came out to watch you play. If you want a better field play it on weekends, maybe one Friday.
Weekends makes sense. This keeps the attention on the game rather than business continuity, vacation or income concerns.
It would be nice if the Senior Championship was also changed. Those of us that work full time have a difficult time taking that much time off.
The time has probably come for the weekend move. The week long match play is definitely unique and great fun when you advance, but becomes harder to schedule as life goes on. How great would that first Friday/Saturday be?
Until it is loved to the weekend I myself will never play in this event again. It does not make any sense to take a week of vacation to potentially play one day pending a loss. If it is moved to a weekend format people will only have to take one day of vacation or potentially none at all given that it will be on a Friday.

Participation and strength of field would improve. It was down to 3 flights this year-time to try something different. Most cities have their's on the weekends or Fri-Sun.
