It has come to my attention that the local postal service in Hyde Park and specifically the Algonquin Building 1 (1605 E 50th Street) have been less than reliable and trustworthy. This petition is meant to gain the signatures of local residents who have had mail, packages, or both go missing when being delivered by the USPS. I will use this petition to gain knowledge of how many others are having problems with their Postal Service and present it to the USPS Office of Inspector General to investigate further.

Please sign this petition if you have experienced missing mail or packages supposedly delivered by USPS specifically.

Personally, I have had two out of the three packages being delivered by the Postal Service go missing and being marked as delivered. I don't believe this is a case of in-building theft, because I have never had problems with package deliveries from UPS, Amazon or FedEx, and I have had many more deliveries from those carriers than USPS. Additionally, I will check immediately after a package notification from USPS says "delivered" and the package will be absent. I have also spoken to others in my building who have had many packages and pieces of mail never be delivered or found upon filing a missing package claim.

Your responses to this will be recorded and presented on July 1st, 2018 as well as at possible future dates in case the issue is not resolved. Multiple responses from single users will not be recorded.
