We the residents of Rochdale Village Inc. an over 50 year-old cooperative residential community with 5,860 apartments and over 25,000 residents in 11434 zip code of South Jamaica, Queens New York; demand that we receive our United States Postal Service mail by no later than 2 PM everyday.
The Rochdale Village community has traditionally had postal service mail delivered to residents by 2 PM daily. However, over the last decade the mail has increasingly been delivered later and later. Much to the residents disgust the mail has been being delivered at or around 5 PM. However, over the last year the mail is now being delivered at or around 7 PM. Moreover, the mail is increasingly being misplaced in the wrong residents mailboxes. This is totally unacceptable, when we know residents in our neighboring communities are receiving their mail at or around 2 PM; affording them the opportunity to conduct their day to day business transactions after receiving their mail. Please sign this petition before September 30, 2017 and encourage your friends & neighbors to sign this petition to demand the U.S.P.S. deliver Rochdale residents mail by 2 PM everyday and minimize the misplacement of mail in the wrong mailboxes.
The petition will be delivered to the postmaster general of the United States Postal Service, the Honorable United States Senators Charles Schumer & Kristen Gillibrand and the Honorable United States Congress Member Gregory Meeks all of which are federal representatives having direct oversight of the mail service for the Rochdale community.

Package delivery needs to improve also, we have some older people who cannot get to the post office to pick up packages.
It's UNACCEPTABLE to pick up yesterday's mail the next morning on the way to work.
The service needs to be improved drastically, it makes no sense to receive the mail between 5 and 7 pm daily.
Receiving our mail after 4-5 pm is an insult to our community! And for the postman who deliver that late.
I completely agree with this! Im usually home by 7:15 and the mail in my building is not delivered yet! Its outrageous!
This really needs to be addressed. Thank you.
I often have seen mail being delivered at 6, 7 and yes 8 in building 6. This needs to change

My mail is consistently being delivered as late as 7pm everyday. This has become unacceptable as my mail is very important to me especially when I have to rely on it for day to day living with my financial transactions.
