The Issue

We, the undersigned Gateview homeowners, are deeply concerned about the deteriorating service and responsiveness from our current management company, FirstService Residential. Our community deserves a management team that is attentive, proactive, and dedicated to maintaining our property in first-class condition. FirstService’s poor performance has resulted in:

  • Growing deferred maintenance and deteriorating common areas
  • Lack of competitive bids and vendor accountability
  • Less transparency in spending and decision-making
  • Stalled and over-budget projects caused by bad practices
  • Water delivery issues and ineffective repairs
  • Rising management fees and incompetent leadership
  • Missing revenue from uncollected storage and parking fees
  • Unresolved complaints and poor tracking of reported issues

These failures put our property values and quality of life at risk. As aggrieved homeowners, we believe it is time for the Board to seek a better solution and restore higher standards at Gateview.

We call on the Board to immediately:

  1. Request and review proposals from other qualified property management companies
  2. Gather homeowner feedback on priorities and expectations for management
  3. Present multiple management candidates for open discussion at the October meeting

If these issues persist, we will pursue further action to hold Board members accountable for disregarding homeowner concerns and input.
