Dear Neighbors,

This is a petition to the Village of Larchmont Traffic Commission requesting a crosswalk at the 4-way intersection of Beach Avenue and Woodbine Avenue. This crosswalk, with appropriate signage, would create a safer means for children and adults alike to cross Beach Avenue heading to Hommocks, Chatsworth, Willow Park, Manor Beach, the Shore Club, Larchmont Yacht Club, and simply to a friend’s home who lives on the other side of Beach Avenue.

In addition, this petition requests the Village of Larchmont Traffic Commission to explore the following ideas to create a safer Beach Avenue:

- Reduce the speed on Beach Avenue from 30 to 25;

- Increase the number of stop signs on Beach Avenue before the stop sign at Woodbine (suggestions from neighbors include additional placement of stop signs at Jochum Avenue and Willow Avenue);

- Explore the use of wide speed bumps on Beach to assist in the lowering of speed

In addition, there has been concern expressed about the lack of consistency in the use of stop signs in the Manor. We request the Traffic Commission to explore creating consistency in the placement of stop signs, especially where two major avenues intersect (example: see Woodbine Avenue and Kane Avenue).

Thank you for your attention and support to this matter.

Sincerely,

Concerned residents of Larchmont Village
