Petition Against Route Proposals A, B, B1, C, C1, D & J For Steiner Ranch Area Evacuation

We the People and Neighbors of Hidden Valley, Montview Acres, Montview Harbor & Mullican-Coker, family, & friends are opposing the following proposed evacuation routes: A, B, B1, C, C1, D & J for the Steiner Ranch Area Evacuation Plan.

Our community would like to stress that we are not in opposition to the residences and families of Steiner Ranch having additional “emergency only” evacuation routes provided to them. Collectively we are adamantly opposed to the proposed alignments through our community. We continue to question why the current routes do not consider more suitable solutions associated with “open land areas” owned by Steiner Ranch Master Association, Inc., Taylor Woodrow Communities, Steiner Ranch LTD, Travis County, City of Austin, BCCP/BCP, LCRA and other property owners. We strongly feel that our limited involvement in the design development process was merely to placate our concerns with a pre-determined alignment decided in advance of neighborhood input. Additionally, our community has provided suggested alternatives to address “emergency only” evacuation route concerns that are far less intrusive to any neighborhood residences than as currently proposed.

As tax payers we would request more transparency from all applicable jurisdictional authorities, and that our concerns be acknowledged. Our neighborhood does hope for a well-planned solution to address the “emergency only” evacuation concerns of the Steiner Ranch community. As a consequence, we strongly object to shouldering the burden of ill implemented environmental regulation that has led to inadequate short and long-range planning, traffic congestion, and adverse impacts to health, safety, and general welfare of tax payers. In conclusion, we feel that there are far more suitable options to address the “emergency only” evacuation route concerns and hope for the best stewardship of “Travis County Taxpayer” money.

Thank you for your attention to these important matters.

the momentum we have right now is honestly incredible and shows how much this community cares about keeping our homes safe. it is clear that people are paying attention and we need to keep this energy going until they actually start listening to us.

I strongly agree with this petition. I also believe that the builders in Steiner Ranch should be responsible for funding any "emergency only" evacuation routes, not we taxpayers. It is the builders who have profited and over built in the neighborhood of Steiner Ranch with no regard to planning for traffic, and evacuation routes.

Stop trying to dump your traffic problems on us. Steiner needs to fix their own mess instead of ruining our quiet streets. Not our problem.

By adding a double lane road for Steiner Ranch to access their community, Hidden Valley will not be living up to its name. This particular neighborhood was founded upon with the intent to keep it private. As for there not being an HOA. Adding a double lane road will take away all privacy, and will help to create any unnecessary HOA. This neighborhood must remain rural to remain unique. If there is a double lane road, you can expect property value’s to dramatically drop as well as completely ruin the presence of Hidden Valley to hinder all wildlife as well.

We only have 1 way out as it is in our neighbord.. Moved to this neighborhood because it is quiet and quaint and do not want to lose that. We are not a part of Steiner Ranch.

A permanent straight, fast route through Steiner Ranch and its Associates’ property will be a far safer option, safety should be the most important deciding factor.

The egress issues for Steiner Ranch should be solved properly and permanently by widening Quinlan Park Road, not by forcing a poor solution onto an adjacent independent neighborhood.
