Petition to Williamson County Commissioners Court - From Residents of Brushy Bend Park
We have recently discovered that decisions are being made by the Williamson County Commissioners Court without any neighborhood input that could have a dramatic impact on our comfortably settled long established Brushy Bend Park community.
Building permits were approved for a new development adjacent to the southeast corner of our neighborhood that include a road that – even though it stops just short of connecting to Brushy Bend Drive -- is designed to ultimately be so connected. If that happens, we would see a dramatic increase in traffic through our neighborhood.
There also has been discussion amongst county officials to close our low water crossing onto Brushy Creek Road, a convenient southern exit and an important part of the character of our neighborhood.
Therefore, the following residents of Brushy Bend Park resolve to urge the Williamson County commissioners to:
1. Refuse approval to connect Brushy Bend Drive to Oak Ridge Drive as well as any other new road extensions into the Brushy Bend Park neighborhood. 2. Refrain from efforts to close our low water bridge. 3. Consult with our neighborhood about any future proposed changes that could affect the quality of life in our community.
Reaching this level of support has been exhausting but necessary. Seeing so many neighbors refuse to be sidelined by the county gives me the stamina to keep fighting this battle.

This whole thing is so messy. Nobody consulted us on any of this. Leave our access alone and keep the traffic out of our community.

We moved here for the peace and quiet. Please dont ruin it by turning our street into a highway for commuters.

Keep our neighborhood safe. Traffic is already bad enough without adding a cut through for everyone else.

RIDICULOUS that they would even think about shutting that crossing down. stop ignoring the people who actually live here.
