The undersigned oppose the rezoning of the property located within the Historic District at 525 Fifth Avenue - Albany, GA from C-5 (office-industrial-residential) to C-R (community residential multiple dwelling) and oppose special approval by the Albany City Commission for the property's structure to become Structured Housing for individuals who meet prison-release eligibility requirements,

I worked in the GDOC for years and I believe that transitional programs are needed. I do feel that these programs need more oversight than what I’ve read will be provided.
Please vote NO on this application. There is already so little respect for the few remaining historic neighborhoods and structures in Albany/Dougherty County, please do not support this application. If this application is permitted to proceed, the integrity of this historic house, lot, street and neighborhood will be further compromised. Thank you for your consideration.
As a 30 year resident of this neighborhood, I ask each of you to vote NO on this rezoning effort as this neighborhood is at the center of the Historic District and we all oppose this effort. Please support our neighborhood and help prevent further deterioration of in-town neighborhoods.
I live in this neighborhood. I am concerned about having offenders living alongside families and children in our community. I'm concerned about property values crumbling and crime levels rising. There are plenty of areas in this city where this type of facility would more appropriately be located.
Using Tift Park as their recreation area is what bothers me. I wish offenders well, but not if they have to use the park for unsupervised socialization.

Reason Circle is the last good part of the good life city... there are thousands of reasons why this is a bad idea ... I am sure many of our neighbors have listed them more articulately than I am prepared to do so today but I will say , anyone with children and/or fear of property depreciation will leave the district and you will be allowing yet another residential family oriented neighborhood to deteriorate and join the rankings of the fourth poorest city in the nation as another neighborhood given to the “Skreets” and filled with Albany’s slum lord owners !

The Rawson Circle historic district has always been a neighborhood of well maintained lovely homes...now historic treasures for Albany. in the 1940s the devastation tornado destroyed a great deal of our older homes of character, please respect this area and keep it as a source of civic pride for Albany. It is a treasure for us all.
