Petition to Oppose the Rezoning of 1495 Remount Road for a Drug & Alcohol Sober Living Facility
We believe that the venture is good, but the location is NOT! Most facilities like this are not located in drug-infested areas, but located where drugs are not so readily available; nor are they placed in densely populated residential neighborhoods near schools, daycare centers, churches & other local businesses. Individuals will be able to leave this proposed facility in our area at will, and many people have expressed the problems they already have with drug addicts vandalizing their properties, including area churches. The proposed creators of this project have NO EXPERIENCE in the ownership nor operation of a program/facility of this kind.
We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens who urge our Community Residents, Leaders, Business Owners, Pastors & Church Congregants to act NOW to oppose the rezoning of 1495 Remount Road for the purpose of a Drug & Alcohol Sober Living Facility be placed next to The Revelation Of Christ Church Child Development Center, Worship Center Offices, Sanctuary & surrounding residential areas.

I truly never imagined that so many neighbors would feel this same urgency about our community. Seeing this level of concern shows me that this really belongs to all of you who want to protect our families and local spaces.

the location is not good in this area. To much temptation for those who are already vulnerable.
This is the wrong thing to do for this community that has been realing in disparity for years and to bring more in is not in the interest of this community
I'm a owner of a childcare facility. Our business hours are 24 hours 6 days. The safety of my staff, parents and children are a concern in the community.
This type of facility does not need to be located less than 25 feet in the air and Child Development Center or across the street from daycare centers or daycare programs. Many children walk down out away from school and we do not want to put them In Harm's Way. Also this is not a good location because one or two blocks away they have easy access to drugs or alcohol. Again the facility is a good idea but the location is NOT. Let's do what is right for our community and oppose the rezoning of 1495 Remount Road.
I really don't want our children so closely exposed to this type of facility. It is not the norm.
Not the right location. Please help keep the children safe.

I stand in agreement with the church in appealing the location that is chosen for rehab center.
