WE THE UNDERSIGNED CALL ON MAYOR KATHY SHEEHAN TO KEEP OUR NEIGHBORHOOD ZONED RESIDENTIAL, TWO FAMILY (R-2)

Whereas Rezone Albany, If left unchecked, will sanction the construction of a five story

"Trump Tower" multi apartment building in the heart of Center Square at the Southwest corner of Dove and Lancaster Streets by changing the zoning to Multiple Unit (M-U) AND;

Whereas such construction would drastically alter the character of this area by unduly increasing density and negatively impacting quality of life through increased noise, traffic, garbage, car and truck exhaust, and decimate any available street parking. This block already houses 90 apartments at the former Knickerbocker Brewery and is at maximum density AND;

Whereas such construction threatens our unique historic district that is known for its distinctive 19th century, brick and brownstone, one and two family row houses. It would damage the fragile aging infrastructure and endanger the physical and structural integrity of our historic homes by excavation, pile driving, drilling and the operation of heavy equipment (bulldozers) on

crowded narrow streets AND;

Whereas a towering five story multi apartment building contradicts Rezone's stated purpose to "protect established neighborhoods", and threatens the rich diversity and character of our neighborhood AND;

Whereas you campaigned for Mayor in 2013 as A CHAMPION for Albany's neighborhoods. Please direct the City Planning Department to MAINTAIN THE EXISTING RESIDENTIAL (R-2) TWO FAMILY ZOING for this block and say NO to a zoning change.

A large building would substantially alter the character of this historic neighborhood and severely impact parking and associated infrastructure. A better idea is to allow construction of single family row houses more consistent with the existing architecture and nearby buildings.

The houses they built on Jay Street in a similar property are much more appropriate!

I support the concerns of this petition. The citizens of Albany spent many hours with the comprehensive planning of 2030 getting it the way the citizens want their neighborhood and now Mayor Sheehan want to change all of it and do another "rezoning". No way.

I strongly oppose this zoning change which will negatively effect the character and livability of our neighborhood.

This is the first I have heard of this proposal. Is it already a fait accompli? or still on the drawingboard? Either way, a very bad idea....

This parcel should be designated one/two family residential much like the rest of the neighborhood. There is no justifiable reason for a classification otherwise.

It doesn't belong. It doesn't fit. Given it's history, it reeks of political deal at a higher level.

the crossover with Loughlin st /Sandige way issue in Guilderland is duly noted. Mayor Sheehan continues to betray us
