We oppose building a through-road linking Pembroke St (Rte 27) to Wapping Rd (Rte 106) as part of the proposed Wapping Road Estates housing development. The intersection on Pembroke St, only 65 feet from Grove St's entrance, would create a substantial traffic danger near Whit's Corner on the second busiest road in Kingston as heavy traffic drives through the residential development and turns left against opposing traffic entering from Grove Street. Nearly all of the reasons given for building the road are to avoid the intersection at Cumberland Farms. The real solution, then, is in fixing that intersection rather than avoiding it and creating two new problem intersections, and a stream of heavy traffic through a new residential development. The alternative is to build the Wapping Estates development as a cul-de-sac with the entrance on Wapping Road.

Grove Street is already the town drag strip. Adding to a congested and aggressively driven intersection is a bad design concept.

Making this road a throughway with an entrance/exit just past Grove St creates an unnecessary added danger to drivers in that area. Best to keep it as a cul de sac with the entrance/exit on Wapping Road for the safety of all.

This is not a good idea to add a thruway roas from rt106 to rt27 Pembroke st. There is enough traffic from grove trying to turn either way on to Pembroke st and from Pembroke st on to grove. Look at all the rear end accident that have happen there. And the #of cars that drive around the card trying to turn into Grove st. This is a VERY BAD IDEA.

At least you have the light at 106/27 to help control the traffic. At times traffic is already backed up to Grove Street waiting for the light. Agree the real solution is keep keep the entrance on Wapping Road & keep the Wapping Estates as a cul-de-sac.

It is pretty tricky already navigating Grove St & Rt 27; especially the left hand turns there. I would love to see an alternate location used.

This through road between 27 and 106 would be detrimental to the quality of life in Kingston. This proposed road would add pollution to the Jones River and would make an already dangerous intersection more dangerous at Grove St. and Route 27. Please, do not consider allowing this road to be built.
