We object to the proposed Pleasant Valley Preserve development in Rome, Georgia. We do not believe that 1,018 homes can safely be added to the area surrounding Chulio Road, Boyd Valley Road, Pleasant Valley Road and Hampton Boulevard. We believe the development will negatively impact our safety, our traffic, our stormwater systems, and our environment. The narrow country roads surrounding this proposed development have too many drop offs, narrow shoulders, blind curves, and deep ditches to safely add the additional amount of traffic that would come with a development of this scope. The loss of 264 acres of trees for concrete would negatively impact the stormwater systems already in place and make flooding a major concern. This development would significantly strain the environment and completely change the rural landscape that we love into an ultra-high density neighborhood that has no precedent anywhere in Rome. We do not want a development of this scope in this area and believe it would negatively impact our safety and quality of life.

Why can’t they use any of the thousands of acres on each side of 411 between Rome and Cartersville for this subdivision?. There have been property for sale signs for the past 40 years in those areas.

I live in the Woodfin neighborhood. Pulling out onto Chulio Road is already a nightmare due to the high rates of speed by most vehicles! We do NOT need a development of this size. Please do not approve this proposal.

The water pressure is already poor, culverts are not maintained, streets are narrow, mailboxes are knocked down due to the narrow roads. I could go on and on. It’s ridiculous to consider inserting that many houses into such a small area.

Schools in the area are already over crowded. Pleasant Valley and Chilio are too small and narrow to support this many more homes. Too big of a housing project of probably cheap and ugly houses crammed together to junk up the prettier parts of our local hillsides.

As a resident of Hampton Preserve, I strongly object to this development using our small neighborhood entrance as an access point. We have three small children and the traffic would be a significant danger to them.

Pleasant Valley Road is very unsafe. It has multiple blind curves and intersections. People have been killed on the blind curves. It has been consistently flooded during the past year despite clearing of the drainage ditches.

Should not be allowed to proceed until the southeast leg of the bypass is completed. At that point traffic on secondary roads would not be as much an issue

If this development is not reduced to 250 homes, it will destroy the peaceful, quiet living of the areas around it from the traffic.
