This petition is being signed by concerned residents of Moorefield Township, recommending the Board of Clark County Commissioners deny Donald Castle's request to rezone lot located at 3720 Moorefield Road from Agricultural to Heavy Business District. Our concerns are related to safety, security, and nuisance created from the proposed business development plan for self-storage units, submitted in Mr. Castle.

This lot is located at the corner of State Route 4 and Moorefield Road which has a history of car accidents, with many resulting in fatalities. More traffic created by the self-storage units may lead to more accidents. The property in Mr. Castle's request is located in a rural area. With many self-storage units providing 24 hour access, neighboring property owners may be at greater risk for theft, vandalism and trespassing during late evening and early morning hours. Due to the nature of this business, several high capacity lights will need to be installed for security of both the business owner's and customer's property. The span of light may encroach upon adjacent residential property.

Signing this petition is request the Clark County Rural Zoning Commission recommend denial of proposal and the Board of Clark County Commissioners deny Rezoning Case #Z-2016-09.

I spent the entire morning staring at the traffic flow at the corner of Moorefield and Route 4 because the thought of adding more congestion there is honestly keeping me up at night. People keep messaging me about the light pollution concern too and it fits perfectly with what I have been trying to tell the zoning board meetings about how our quiet rural neighborhood is going to change forever if this happens.

Total nightmare for traffic. That turn onto Moorefield is bad enough without trucks pulling in and out all day.

My kids play outside right near there. I dont want random people driving in and out at 3am. Keep the neighborhood safe!

NO! We have enough storage units in Clark County as it is. leave the rezoning alone

Property values will tank if this goes through. Not what we moved here for.

The light pollution alone is enough reason to say no. Totally ruins the area.
