An applicant is requesting to Rezone 3712 Halter Rd from Agricultural to Conditional Use for commercial dog kennel, fairgrounds and race track for meets of dogs.
Upon further investigation, the county informed us that the applicant plans to build a 42,000 sqft arena, and a 300 spot parking lot.
This is going to introduce noise pollution, light pollution, environmental hazards (ex: runoff into the property's streams during construction), but most importantly traffic and congestion in an area that is not designed for the possibility of 300 additional cars coming and going at once. The majority of our community is not in favor of this business coming to Silver Run, therefore we are protesting the possible rezoning. Please help us out by signing our petition. Thank you!

Our area is not appropriate for this. This is a small, quiet agricultural community that needs to stay that way. A facility of this size will post too many hazards to the area.
I am sure the community would be welcoming to another business, but it needs to be along the main road on 97, not the back roads.
I live with my daughter on Halter Rd.
Halter Rd. and our community is a rural area and that is why we live here. I personally would like it to stary rural and not have this arena and the traffic that will come along with it on Halter Rd. Thank you.
NO TO REZONE
I enjoy the beauty that Mother Nature shows us and enjoy hearing the birds sing during the day. No traffic either.
I am opposed to this facility in the small Silver Run community. We live on Halter Road and would hate to see this happen!

I worry that this facility could end up hosting things like monster truck shows. Once it is built the community would have an uphill battle to stop the activities that occur there.
