Petition to Modify the Mayfield Heights Planning Commission’s Approval of a Taco Bell at Mayfield and Belrose Roads
We, a coalition of residents, stand together in opposition to the Mayfield Heights Planning Commission’s decision to approve the proposed site design for the Taco Bell at Mayfield and Belrose Roads.
The proposed site design, with site ingress/egress on Belrose Road, will:
- Increase traffic and wear-and-tear on an already-deteriorating Belrose Road, as well as Oakville, Ranchland and Mayfield Ridge Roads, and will create significant safety issues for small children;
- Create significant increases in late-night traffic, as well as significantly increase the potential for intoxicated drivers in our neighborhoods at late night hours;
- Increase the potential for crime in our neighborhood;Increase light and noise pollution on neighboring properties; and,
- Reduce residential property values.
We are requesting that City Council modify the Mayfield Heights Planning Commission’s approval, and include the following changes:
- Move all ingress/egress to Mayfield Road.
- Require the addition of a masonry sound wall to the north property line.
- Require controls on lighting.
- Require that the business close no later than midnight.

I have been meeting with neighbors all week to document specific concerns about traffic patterns on Belrose Road. Call your City Council representatives today to demand they address these safety risks before the final site plan is filed. Email your City Council representative today to demand they review our requested site design modifications. The Taco Bell proposal must be modified to include no ingress or egress on Belrose, a masonry sound wall, closing hours no later than midnight, dimming of lights at drive thru at late night hours, If these issues can not be resolved to the residents satisfaction council has the duty to vote no on the Taco Bell proposal.
Belrose Rd is in bad condition. My opposition to this is largely around the increased traffic with so many children and the security concerns with late night traffic and operations.
Keep cars off side streets they stopped it on Washington blvd with no exit from speedway.when they had exit it was constant traffic
The traffic from a taco bell would be a bad addition with one of the few neighborhood parks being right there with kids coming and going.
I do not agree with allowing Taco Bell to build on this site at all. It's more careless planning that began with permitting multiple Cash N Go type businesses, Mayfield Gun, etc. This will continue to drive away homeowning residents who came here for the peaceful, safe streets.
I am against permitting a Taco Bell in the city of Mayfield Hts in general and specifically at Belrose & Mayfield Rds.

currently living on belrose. This would be a terrible idea. Especially with the condition of our street. You should think about fixing the street before you put things on it.
