Wichita is the only city that gives tickets for some fireworks. This was decided by people that go to neighborhood meetings. Those of us who have other stuff to do are NOT represented. Our own Mayor Longwell believes this. Please help us make the next 4th of July a good one and legalize all fireworks.
Mayor Longwell and his cronies at those neighborhood meetings think they can dictate how we celebrate our own independence. We are tired of the constant tickets and the pathetic restrictions on our rights. They are ignoring us so we will keep pushing until they have no choice but to listen.
July 6, 2018
The momentum is undeniable and it proves that Wichita residents are sick of being pushed around by bureaucrats who have no interest in our traditions. Mayor Longwell needs to understand that we are not going to sit quietly while they hand out tickets for our basic rights.

This is suck a joke we are fighting against shooting fireworks in this city. We are broke but yet send all that money out of the city. Just like our casino.

July 4th is quickly becoming a day where we celebrate the all the freedoms we used to have. At least give grown adults the freedom to shoot off real fireworks.

Don't be a bunch of party poopers. Don't take away the fun of an important day. Give us our fireworks back. We hate snaps and smoke bombs!
