Help Us Legalize the Use and Sale of Fireworks in Suffolk County, NY
Last fall the New York State legislature gave counties the ability to legalize the sales of certain consumer fireworks, like ground based fountains and sparklers. Now the SuffolkCounty Legislature is currently debating a proposal to allow residents the right to sell and use sparklers, fountains and other novelties around the Fourth of July. This common sense local law will let our residents enjoy the freedoms that Americans in 46 other states enjoy in celebrating our Nation's independence.
We hope you will sign this petition to urge all members of the SuffolkCounty Legislature to support this local law!

Reaching this point has been a long and draining climb. Knowing that so many people are behind this push for common sense gives me the resolve to keep engaging with the legislature.

would be a smart move for suffolk county to keep all the tax dollars here instead of going to other legal states.
Not only will this benefit the county in sales, but it saves us all the hassle to go out of state to get fireworks.
Keep them restricted from kids but let responsible adults have fun on the 4th and at other special occasions.

Having laws that are universally ignored is bad diminishes the standing of the legislature. Legalize fireworks now.
