Update: On 7/16/2018 the Smyrna City Council voted against rezoning the Sports Avenue property that would allow a developer to build an apartment complex. Your petition signatures and letters to the City Council members were great contributions to the success of this vote. Thank you.
-------------------------------------------------------------
An application to rezone property on Sports Avenue near the intersection of Spring Road has been filed by the owner so that it can be sold to a developer with plans to build a 350+ unit apartment complex. A development of that size will add 500 cars to the Spring Road corridor and increase commute times.
This petition is a request to the Smyrna Zoning Board to deny this
rezoning change and ask the property owner to select one of the other alternative offers for their property.
Cumberland Church needs to show that it cares for the welfare of this community; not just money. The apartment complex is a very bad idea for this location.
