I am honestly stunned to see so many alumni coming together like this. If we can reach that hundred mark it will show everyone just how much this name means to us.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many people have stepped up to support our name. We are just shy of one thousand signatures and I really feel like this momentum belongs entirely to you all. If you can help us reach that next milestone before the board meets it would mean the world to me.

Byrnes class of 86. I was a member of the football team, baseball team and ran track. Proud rebel. They stopped waving the flag years ago, the General mascot is gone but the rebel name should not change. We are rebels because we have tight community that stands together.
Class of 1993. With 2 children graduating from here, one in 2013 and the other in 2015. Racism is in the hearts of people, not in the school's name. Taking Rebels out of the name will only fuel a very unstable situation.
Leave it alone. Find something more important. There are tons of schools with the Rebels as their mascot. No longer a Confederate Flag nor a rebel soldier. It's swords for crying out loud. Everyone in history carried a sword....
my kids went to that school and now my grandkids are to. I even got my GED and said it was from Byrnes Rebel.please don't disrespect us by taking away the name of our school that so many has gone to and graduated from please have perspective for all of us
MY DAUGHTER ATTENDED BYRNES AND MY SON WILL BE A TENTH GRADER THERE NEXT YEAR. THIS HYSTERIA HAS TO STOP. THE SCHOOL ALREADY DROPPED THE FLAG AND THE GENERAL YEARS AGO. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH. KEEP THE NAME! THIS COMING FROM A REBEL PARENT WHO IS HIMSELF A CAVALIER.
Leave the Rebels alone. Stop making a big out of noyhing. You can't rewrite history. It's sickening to me that people are so stupid.
