At the end of the 2012-2013 school year, Midpark High School will cease to exist and merge with Berea High School. The Berea School Board has decided that the name of the high school following the merger will be Berea-Midpark High School. The communities of Berea, Middleburg Heights, and Brook Park are petitioning the Berea City School District to rename the high school entirely for the start of the 2013-2014 school year, and not include the names Berea or Midpark. We, the students and/or taxpayers of the school district, are requesting that the community vote on the name of the high school. The new name would be a new begininning for the students and would help foster new traditions.
(Signatures should be limited to current students, alumni, current district employees, or residents of the Berea City School District)
Berea or Midpark Alumni should make sure they fill out the field for Alumni School and Graduation Year (example: Berea 1981 or Midpark 1999).

Just let the people vote. Simple as that.
It feels like they didnt even try when they came up with that. Waste of time and money honestly.
As a Midpark grad I dont want to be lumped in with Berea and I am sure they feel the same. A totally new name is the only fair way to merge.
Berea-Midpark sounds like a train station. Terrible name. Give the kids a chance to pick something that actually feels like a new school.
Why keep clinging to the past? We need a fresh start for these kids so they arent constantly comparing themselves to the old schools.

What a joke of a name. Needs to change before it sticks forever.
