Tarpon Springs customers and business owners of S Hibiscus street want to keep it closed. It creates a feeling of safety while allowing people to get a piece of normalcy back. The Mediterranean outdoor feel has created a huge following and sense of excitement needed in the historic downtown area of Tarpon Springs. Outdoor dining and the sight of shrubs and trees and flowers has elevated the landscape of this part of downtown Tarpon making it a place to visit even more.

The momentum behind this petition is encouraging as we approach the one hundred signature milestone. We must maintain this current level of intensity to ensure our position remains clear when we address the city officials. Your continued commitment to preserving the pedestrian nature of South Hibiscus is instrumental.

We drove by yesterday and I told my husband, it certainly is nice and adds so much atmosphere, I hope they replace the ugly orange and white barriers (a necessity now I know) with a nice black Wright iron fence and ‘fairy lights’.

This is one of the quaintest streets in Tarpon Springs. It’s so important for this street to remain pedestrian traffic only for the safety of the employees that serve customers outside. This would be the start to bring a more European flair to this unique town.

As a former downtown business owner who closed not only to covid 19 but lack of pedestrian traffic in the area, this will only help remaining business.

The road closure instantly transforms the West end of downtown into a quaint, brick street alfresco atmosphere. Eliminating an Infrequently used road with many close alternate routes will have zero impact on traffic and the elimination of 5 parking spots is a small cost for such a huge gain.

I live on Hibiscus St and think it needs to stay closed! The traffic coming down our street has slowed and the outdoor seating adds a European flavor to the area. Keep it closed!

Allowing businesses to expand beyond their 4 walls makes Tarpon Springs more inviting and welcoming. Hibiscus Street is a start, let's spread our wings and make Tarpon a must see destination where people want to come and stay.
