Protect Coral Bay’s children, pedestrians and community We, the undersigned, call on the Shire of Carnarvon to keep French Street closed to through traffic and retain the existing restriction in place.
French Street should remain a safer street for the people who live, walk, ride, and gather in Coral Bay. Reopening it to through traffic would put children, pedestrians, and the wider community at greater risk and would undo a sensible measure that already helps protect local families and visitors. This is not a small change. It would bring more vehicles, more speed, more noise, and more danger to a place where safety should come first.
Coral Bay is a community, not a shortcut. The current restriction on French Street gives people more confidence to move around safely and helps keep the area calm and welcoming. There is no good reason to create extra risk when the road is already serving the community well as it is.
We ask the Shire of Carnarvon to listen to residents and visitors and keep French Street closed to through traffic. Please protect the safety of Coral Bay’s children, pedestrians, and community by leaving this restriction in place.
To open a road in the middle of a caravan park is ridiculous it has been closed for years why now open the road too many children and elderly around it would be far too busy with traffic to run through the middle of the park not to mention be very busy running past the accommodation of the ferments living on that street
