The undersigned are in support of a street closure between 3rd and 4th Street, June-September, Wednesdays thru Saturdays from 4-10 pm on Main Street in Carbondale, Colorado. This closure is for the benefit of community, providing a safe atmosphere for dining and socializing, furthering our Environmental Bill of Rights and Comprehensive Plan by creating more pedestrian zones and facilitating our "small town" atmosphere by creating a safe space to gather.

The street would be amazing without cars. We should extend the closure to the whole of the downtown core. Opponents will say that they could loose business, however the draw of a closed street to gather would likely increase business by attracting more people to downtown.
It takes 30 seconds to drive around it. Well worth the benefits to the businesses on Main Street, a safe area for kids to socialize and play, and an area for the community to gather. After the last two years, we need to promote socialization and gatherings more than ever.
We fully support the closure. We have been coal rolled with our young child by large pickup trucks pulling cattle trailers sitting outside at bonfire - terrible experience!
This intermittent street closure adds vibrancy to downtown. The town is small so parking on the periphery is not a huge burden. It also removes traffic and emissions from the business district. Lastly, walking and biking are healthy.
The street closure creates a charming town-center atmosphere that people from our Valley and abroad go out of their way to visit. If anything, we should explore ways to expand the closure, to include more businesses and local merchants, while still maintaining our vital traffic thoroughfare.

Bonedale Flashmob and AlexandraJerkunica would once again love to see this happen again as it has only brought our community together through joy, laughter, support of local businesses, outdoor performances, gathering of family and friends and welcoming visitors to our town during these warm months.
