Dear Mexico Beach Council Members,
As property owners of Mexico Beach, between North 36th and 44th streets, we respectfully request the closure of the temporary road that connects our neighborhood to the boat ramp area. We understand the road was immensely valuable during Hurricane Michael clean-up and may need to be used for similar purposes in the future so details on how it will be closed will need to take this into consideration. However, it was never intended to be a permanent roadway so now that the majority of the hurricane cleanup is complete in that area, we ask that it be closed as soon as reasonably feasible.
Respectfully,
Mexico Beach neighbors
This was agreed upon by the mayor and commissioners upon the bridge being completed. It was discussed by different City officials for over a year, with everyone again agreeing that it would be closed upon bridge competition. It’s in the best interest of all of our community here on the canal. Close the temporary road like you agreed. Email me and I am glad to share with you what our neighbors and I have already experienced, due to this temporary road staying open. It’s not good for our community!
