The information centre is one of the first places visited by newcomers and frequent travellors alike. To this end we; as a group of local busincess owners/operators feel that during our peak season of July thru the end of August, the visitor centre should have extended hours. As the days get longer, tourists and visitors travel later into the day, consequently many arrive in Kaslo after Visitor Centre operating hours during peak season. With very few other options the Mohawk gas station is often where tourists turn next for information. We believe it would better serve the community if the Visitor Centre stayed open til at least 6 pm during these peak times. We all understand the restrictions of budget and to that end perhaps the Visitor Centre could open later in the morning and thus stay open later into the evening. We believe the Visitor Centre is a great community and small business resource that could provide even better service to both it's community and visitors, with this one small addition.
