Elmwood schools long serving lollypop man has been informed that his services are no longer required.
Brian has been in post for almost 15 years and has a passion for keeping parents and children safe whilst crossing a busy Hull bridge Road. He provides a warm welcome everyday to everyone; children and parents alike will miss his daily greetings.
Hull Bridge Road is a busy road that is a main bus route and one of the main roads in South Woodham Ferrers that serves the railway station and local convenience shops. A large volume of walking families need to cross the road in order to get to the school. So Essex County Council decision to remove Brian could lead to a potential accident.
By signing this petition you are supporting our concern for children's safety whilst crossing the road to school - thank you!

The feedback from local families has been consistent in confirming that Brian is a vital part of our daily school routine. I am currently working to coordinate a meeting with the council to discuss how they intend to ensure the safety of our children without his presence on the crossing. Silence from the authorities persists for now but your continued engagement proves that our community remains focused on this priority.

It is a disgrace taking away something as important as a lolly pop man, the children's safety should be the upmost priority The friendliness of a school starts from its crossing guard, a warm smile to a nervous pupil before he or she enters the gates goes a very long way
There are no pedestrian crossings at all in this area. The children's safety will be severely at risk. Secondary school children will also be put at risk as they cross without their parents supervision. Dreadful decision to take away the crossing patrol.
Absolutely disgraceful putting all our children's life at risk. Was going to let my daughter start walking soon won't be able to if no Brian. Sort it out Chelmsford Council what will it take someone to be killed before you act.
I live in Hullbridge Road. It is treacherous to navigate crossing with childeen and pushchairs, especially at scool times with extra parking, busses and generally heavy traffic. It would be irresponsible to remove lollipop crossing.
Both shocked and in dis-belief that this is actually being considered. Having used this route regularly with my two young children on the school run, it is such a busy crossing!! Not only that Brian is such a genuinely good all round guy & is excellent with the children!
Save Brian!!!
I worked at the school where he patrolled, he is totally needed the mothers in there 4x4 have no consideration and worhout do not stop !! The kids love him and brighten there day into school
