Approximately 100 children from Wallands school and a significant number attending other schools in Lewes have to cross Prince Edwards Rd to get to and from school. Due to speeding cars, road junctions and numerous parked cars makes crossing the road at the top of Leicester Road is a hazardous experience. We have looked into having the car parking reduced or having a zebra crossing, but none of these options are viable. The best solution is to have a lollipop man or lady to help children cross the road on their way to and from school. If we can get 200 signatures in support of this petition, we can go to the council to make our case. I am currently compiling our list of signatures to present the case for a crossing guard directly to the council. Please text the link to three local parents who use Prince Edwards Road and urge them to add their names before I submit our request.

There are a lot of cars around both entrances of the school and around the back entrance cars go really fast. Help would be great
My son walks this way everyday and I worry sick about the traffic coming round that corner way too fast. Get a crossing guard hired ASAP.

It would make the walk to school much safer for many.
This is very much needed - it's terrifying crossing that road with kids

its honestly getting so dangerous out there especially in the mornings when everyones in a rush to get to work. we need someone there before there is a bad accident
