Please sign our petition to request Wigan Council to reinstate the vital service of a lolypop person at the crossing on school lane, Standish.
So close to Woodfold school and busy each day with families and children this is a tragedy waiting to happen!
Drivers are dangerously waiting in the yellow box, running red lights without any care or attention to the fact our children are crossing! Before mine, or your child is seriously injured let’s petition the council to being back the Lollypop!
With enough signatures I hope to appeal to Wigan council, to remind them of “The Deal” they made.

The scale of this response confirms the urgency of the situation at the School Lane crossing. I am currently finalizing a formal letter to the Wigan Council transport department to demand a review of their risk assessment for this site.

Totally agree this junction is a death trap due to drivers who flaunt the laws daily and run red lights - we live near by and regularly have near misses due to red light runners it is scary and needs action - as well as a lollipop it also needs cameras to catch the offenders

I am 100% behind this petition, just as much as I was very much involved with the reinstatement of the Crossing Patrol Officer at St Wilfrid’s Primary school. I shall be corresponding with WMBC regarding this petition.

We nearly got run over here. Someone going through on red. Had to drag kids back as crossing green.

This junction gets chaotic at busy times - very confusing for children with cars coming from all directions. The lollipop lady made sure that children kept away from the traffic until it was safe to cross.

Idiot drivers park in the yellow box and then give you grief for saying something, this didn’t happen when we had our lollipop lady who all the kids adored

Totally agree a lollipop lady is definitely needed here , and something needs to be done about the cars that constantly drive on to the yellow boxed area , without a care in the world I have witnessed many ridiculous / dangerous situations here ! My son goes to woodfold and it's absolute chaos Morning & afternoon , traffic wise I have seen many cars jump the red light also , it certainly is a fatality waiting to happen I 100% back you on this campaign
