Another 'price over common sense' decision. Whoever signed this off will have to answer for this decision when an accident happens here.

Brian is so well liked by all who come in contact with him. Everyone looks to him to keep them safe crossing at this particular spot, a school day would not be the same without him.

The roads are far too busy now, with many dangerous and ignorant drivers around, to allow children to walk unattended over this, or any other, crossing.

I walk this stretch of road four times a day taking my daughter to and from preschool and have always crossed here. With a 4 year old and a buggy it is not safe for me to cross anywhere else.

Perhaps the chief of ECC should take a look at his salary and reduce it rather than make the people who are actually worth the money redundant!

How can you choose which school children should be protected from possible traffic accidents - keep our Lollipop men/women happy they are doing a fantastic job.

I assume this is to save a few pounds, the Council should be looking else ware perhaps there grossly inflated wages & pensions and not children's lives.

This is a shameful action by the local council and the reinstatement of Mr Collin's position is required immediately for the safety of our children.

It has almost been a year since I left Elmwood. When I was a pupil at Elmwood Primary School I always walked to school and when I approached Brian the lollipop man he was always nice and caring towards everyone he greeted. He always has a smile on his face, and when he checked the road he would check the road carefully before letting anyone cross. He is a great lollipop man and without Brian it just wouldn't be the same. So if they kick Brain out there will be 2 busy areas with no lollipop man to help people cross safely
So please, please help save Brian. #savebrain

As a student at William de ferrers school and after the accident near asda with a young nine year old boy, I feel roads need as much lolly pop men as possible to ensure road safety for young children

Brian has been incredable in what he does, he makes parents and all children safe on a busy road, we would not see Brian leave

Please do not stop the lollipop men woman. They do such an amazing job keeping everybody safe on our busy roads , it's a huge part of what makes us British and keeps public spirits high helping keep our children safe. My Uncle Brian takes huge pride in his job as a lollipop man, his so committed to his job. He has a contagious happy outgoing personality that rubs off on every body he meets. Everybody looks forward to saying hello everyday, and appreciates his efforts keeping the journey home safe for them.

I walk past Brian daily, on a long stretch of Hullbridge to where I work. I can say that Hullbridge is a fast road, cars often travel 40 mph, sometimes higher. It would be a mistake to let Brian go from this area, I can sincerely say that he has an impact on the safety of school children and I think removing him will only have a negative impact.
