For years there has always been a lollipop person at the childrebs crossing near the milk bar on Ballarat road untill someone came down from Melbourne to determine that the children's crossing did not need someone there to make sure all the children that go to that crossing get across safely with cars doing 60+ kms at a time it's tough enough and adult getting across let alone a child so this petition is to try and get traffic lights at the Ballarat road/ Rippon road intersection! Keep the children safe on a main highway!

I have been standing at the crossing every morning watching the traffic speed by and it only confirms why we started this. The council is finally reviewing our request for a meeting to discuss these safety concerns.

Watching the sign count climb gives me hope that people realize how dangerous this intersection really is for our kids. We are almost at one hundred signatures and reaching that number will help me get the attention of the local council. Push just a little harder so we can finally force them to listen.

Ballarat Rd has become a dangerous road & since the trucks are back it is even worse. A race track. There is so much traffic on that road the last few years & getting worse. Don’t wait for someone to be killed. Drivers drive straight out from the tennis court corner Rippon Rd. It is only a give way & not a stop sign.

I have seen many close calls at this intersection and I have also unfortunately seen collisions. This intersection and the intersection further up near Hillier Lane both need Traffic lights and or roundabouts, this should have been done many years ago.

In addition to the needs of children crossing Ballarat Rd to meet the school bus, this crossing also needs lights to control for traffic exiting Rippon Rd on the lake side and either continuing on Rippon Rd or turning right into Ballarat Rd .

This is so needed and not just for school children. It’s. A very hard intersection to cross in a car and often extremely busy. The sun in the morning and evening makes it almost impossible to see The bus shelter also hinders visibility. Walkers also find it very difficult to cross.

Need lights to make it fair to all traffic not just forward travelling vehicles on busy school times it takes up to 10/15 mins if not longer to get across the highway from rippon Rd then it is dangerous because everyone is in a hurry and sometimes don't stop or give way.

Needs to be done. I lived in Morongo Ave and taking a toddler to childcare and getting to work on time in the mornings was a pain because of this intersection! Lights are needed

The 2 intersections on Ballarat Road, Rippon Road and George Street, need updating to make it safer. The turning lane on the George Street intersection is too narrow (the width of a car does not fit inside the lane) and the rise and slight bend make visibility very difficult, especially during peak hours. The Rippon Road intersection is also dangerous, especially during peak times, cars are waiting for 10+minutes at times to cross the highway, making some people impatient. The placement of the shelter shed on the Rippon Road intersection is too close to the corner, abstructing the view of the road and making it unsafe to cross or turn.
