Over the years there have been many accidents on the friday street road, where people have been either driving to fast or people not looking when they are crossing the road, I think the time is right that something should be done so that is why I am getting this petition up and going for eith traffic lights or a zebra crossing
We just hit 500 signatures on this petition. Now take the link and text it to three friends who drive or walk on Friday Street. We need to keep this pressure on the local council until they provide a safe crossing.

We are approaching one hundred signatures but we need to push harder to get the council to listen. Send the link to three people on your contact list right now. Post the petition to your Facebook page today so we can hit our goal.

The whole of Friday Street would benefit from a reduction in the speed limit from 40mph to 30mph as well as traffic lights and/or zebra crossings. This is now an area with extensive housing and traffic claming measures should be urgently put in place.

if someone has been hit, shouldn't you already be realising you need some sort of way to stop or slow cars down. One of my closest friend was hit at this place and I don't want another friend to be hit due to nothing being done.

I agree there should be a controlled crossing if possible here or zebra crossing as it is a fast busy road. Road bollards are not enough. My husband is a wheelchair user and we have to cross this road for the doctors.

So sad for this family. My husband and I only moved here 2 years ago and have always been puzzled why Friday Street has a 40mph speed limit as it is so residential. Would say put a crossing and reduce speed limit to 30mph.

Such awful news about the poor little girl. My heart goes out to all her loved ones. Something really needs to be done to stop a tragedy like this happening again. It needs to be a 30mph zone, traffic lights or zebra crossing. Such a dangerous road and more needs to be done to keep other pedestrians safe.

This issue needs to be addressed with a matter of urgency. Especially with a school nearby it appears to have been overlooked for years but now urgent action needs to be taken in light of the incident on 16/12/2014
