This petition is in the interest of public safety. The intersection of Jones Dairy Road and Chalks Road is the primary access to the Franklin Academy. During the hours when parents are dropping off or picking up their children, this intersection becomes atreacherousplace for drivers to navigate. Parents that walk their children to the academy from the Bowling Green community find it very dangerous to cross the intersection from one sidewalk to the other as well. There have been multiple vehicle accidents at this intersection as well. The standard method of traffic control, in the form of a traffic signal light, used by the North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is sorely needed at this intersection. The intent is to present this petition to the Town of Wake Forest Town Council and the NCDOT. Please help us get this traffic signal light installed before another accident possibly takes the life of a child or worse.
The Town Council and the NCDOT are still ignoring our warnings while more accidents happen at this intersection. We are currently preparing to march into their next meeting to force them to acknowledge the danger they are creating for our children.

The Town Council ignores the carnage at this intersection but they can no longer ignore this surge of outrage. Our momentum is forcing them to see that we will not wait for another tragedy at Jones Dairy Road. Keep the pressure on these bureaucrats until they finally install a signal.

My kids walk to school and I worry sick every single day. The traffic at drop off is totally out of control.

Too many near misses at this intersection. Why wait for a tragedy to happen? Put the light in.

I turn here every morning and it is a nightmare. People are always flying around that corner way too fast. We need a light before somebody gets killed.

Ridiculous that it takes a serious crash for the town to act. Do it now.
