Paramus Police Records indicate that in the past 5 years, there have been 13 motor vehicle crashes on the intersection of Forest and Howland Avenues, some of them with injuries.
We need a left turn signal to make the intersection safer for everyone. Please sign this petition and help making our community safer.
I met with the department of public works this morning to present the crash data regarding the Howland and Forest intersection. They are currently reviewing the incident reports to determine if a signal upgrade meets their engineering thresholds. I will update you once their formal assessment is complete.

The momentum generated by this petition has prompted a response from the municipal traffic engineering department. I have secured a meeting with the lead planner to present our documentation regarding the intersection crashes. We are currently preparing a formal letter that outlines our specific request for the installation of a left turn signal.

I reside one block from Forest & see accidents at least once a day on this dangerous road. People drive as if they're driving on a highway. This left turn signal would prevent many accidents! It will also eliminate a little bit of traffic.

I drives pass this intersection almost everyday. Every time I took a left turn, I was risking my life because I had only a few seconds to make the left turn before the next car is coming. for the safety of community, we really need this left turn signal.

This has been necessary for a very long time now. I've even had friends put in the ICU due to crashes at this intersection. The traffic here can get so severely congested that it's a wonder more accidents don't occur.

this is one of the worst turns to make from forest ave going east onto howland ave. approximately 6 years ago, i was in an accident because of this turn. we should have a delayed signal, like the one on midland and forest.

Most dangerous turn is turning left (west) onto Howland when northbound on Forest. If a southbound car on Forest is also waiting to make a left (eastbound) turn, you can not see southbound traffic in the right-hand lane.

This is such a good idea! I hope it comes to fruition.

It is a good idea to implement a left turn light at the intersection. It is very inconvenient to drive during rush hour and wait sometimes two light changes until you can make a left turn from Forest into Howland.
