This petition is being put forward by the Finn Valley Action group against the use of Coillte land for a proposed wind farm (namely Carrickaduff wind farm).
The local community and Coillte have always had a good relationship and it has come as a great shock to us that Coillte would back such a development so close to our houses.
Coillte is a semi state agency and as such it is part owned by the people of the country.
WE ARE APPEALING TO COILLTE TO RECONSIDER PROVIDING COILLTE LANDS FOR WINDFARM DEVELOPMENT IN CLOSE PROXIMITY TO OUR HOMES.

Coillte are guardians of huge areas of Ireland's precious and beautiful landscape. Its time they started recognising the need to preserve and protect the landscape and the communities who live in it rather than allowing it to be desecrated for short term financial gain.
Where is the logic in the taxpayer doling out an afforestation grant to regenerate the Irish forestry stock, whilst permitting Coillte to denude existing forestry to construct wind farms? Is the objective to reduce atmospheric carbon or to enrich investment funds?
Experts tell us that the East coast is best for wind turbines. The wind there is more reliable and constant, with fewer storms which require the turbines turned off.. Why does Coilte choose Donegal over the East coast counties? This Coilte scheme is unjustified, uneconomic, in the wrong place, and destructive.
For a semi state company to invest in what could lead to real losses for the people forced to live beside them is a disgrace. If Coillte care about saving the planet then do what their good at and plant new trees which will reduce Co2 unlike errecting Industrial Machines which have little effect on reducing Co2. PLANT TREES NOT TURBINES.
Everyone needs and deserves the right to be able to go home after a days work and be able to relax in their own home, with out worrying about what negative effect these huge turbine are going to have on their and their childrens health.
Coilllte please do not allow this to happen in our community areas of outstanding naturalness being desecrated forever and the future generations deserve what we have been so fortunate to have enjoyed.
Time to stand up and fight back as a united group.
