This petition is in response to the North Dakota State Supreme Court's decision yesterday to retire the UND Fighting Sioux name. Instead of allowing it to be put to a vote, the court decided to make a decision that, many believe, should be decided by the people of North Dakota. Fight for the Sioux name now while it's still in our minds. Show the State Supreme Court you support the name.

The silence from the courthouse is frustrating and exhausting but we are not walking away from this fight. I have been spending my nights digging through legal precedents to find a way to get this on a ballot where it actually belongs.

Seeing this level of support confirms that folks are still paying attention despite how difficult this fight has become. It has been a long road but I am not letting go of this issue yet.
