This Petition is against UNH's new logo change. This petition has high hopes in making a big enough impact amongst the UNH community that the UNH administration will consider changing the new logo.

UNH should've promoted a contest where the administration asks the student body to create their own logos and have a pool of submissions reviewed and judged by the representatives of the UNH board. The winner could have received a tuition scholarship but instead UNH spent $65,000 dollars to make two simple letters that have lost a whole lot of respect this pass week leaving UNH in an uproar. UNH cared more about making a logo with a credited firm than reaching out their own student body and letting the students have an impact on the decision making.

It's not too late to make a change and this is where I'm reaching out to you.

Please join the movement by signing this petition & sharing it with the Wildcat community on Facebook & Twitter so by the end of winter break (or sooner) we'll be able to take things to the next level.

Stay up to date on this movement by liking UNH Confessions on Facebook which which will be posting the progress of this petition.

Thank you for your time & consideration.

The feedback I have received from the campus community confirms that the recent branding decision remains a significant point of concern for many students. I am currently organizing our documentation to ensure the administration understands the depth of this frustration. Thank you for maintaining your interest in this initiative.

Besides that fact that the entire UNH identity and tradition of the university has been lost with this new logo, the amount of money spent is disgusting! In todays academic culture and the cost of education, this money could have been better allocated to scholarships and educational support. What a loss for the university.

A contest would have been a great idea, or at the very least an opportunity provided for students to vote on a design. That being said, having worked in marketing for close to twenty years, $65k for a University logo is actually kind of a bargain.

For a University that is supposedly deeply concerned with its student body's participation in politics and community, it was pretty unkind to neglect to ask for our input on what they're going to use to represent us.

This new logo do not depict the history, culture, or tradition of UNH. My decision to petition the new logo has nothing to do with money, but rather the fact that the decision was made entirely by administration and the input from students was clearly not heard.

I am a 2013 UNH grad, and was legacy student. With all the talent UNH has, there's no excuse for spending so much money on a logo, especially one so simple. It should have at least not come from out of state. As an alum, I feel any new UNH logo should be true UNH Blue.

Even though the T-Hall logo only had direct ties to the Durham campus, at least it was connected to UNH and is an icon of the school. The new logo looks like a state highway sign - it could relate to any school in NH.

Logo is no good the old one was way better. The amount of money that was spent to change the logo could have been spent towards a better cause.

In what way is an orange "S" distinctive to Syracuse? A yellow "M" to Michigan? An orange and green "U" to Miami? These logos are no more elaborate than the blue and white "NH" and they are recognizable nationwide as logos for their universities.
