Dear East Sacramento neighbors,
I am writing because our community is in need of a dog park. Too often have my kids been playing in a local park and dogs off leashes have come close to them and scared them. It's not that your dog is not friendly, it's that my kids are scared of dogs in general.
Last night one dog off the leash almost attacked my kid after her soccer practice. I was terrified and soon found out (thank you Facebook), that dogs off leashes while kids are playing is a common occurrence in our East Sac parks (Bertha Henschel, Glenn Hall, and East Portal). We are in need for a space where pooches can play off leash and freely without kids around.
Please sign this petition so we can show our city representatives that our community can work together and come up with solutions to have a designated East Sac dog park (heck we already have Healthy Hounds cafe).

The volume of support for a dedicated dog park has reached a level that the City Council can no longer ignore. I am currently finalizing a formal proposal to present to the Parks and Recreation department during our scheduled meeting next week.

The Sacramento region has the second highest number of DogTrekker.com readers in California and we support the dog owners and all residents of East Sacramento in securing a fenced dog park where dogs can safely run and play off-leash.
Our dogs in East Sac deserve better. We pay for parks but our own pets can't play there unless they are leashed. Can we leash the toddlers too,lol We need a place for pets only. We are homeowners and as dog owners we are not being represented in our community, East Sac. And no giving us a wadding size pool of an area. A real park!
Great idea! There are too many dogs off leash at all our local East Sac Parks. That isn't fair to the kids and people that also want to enjoy the park. It is also difficult for those of us who want to walk our dogs through or around the park. A leashed dog can be aggressive when they are leashed and another dog approaches off leash.
Sutter's Landing does not count. There is no grass and no shade at that park. We need a dog park IN east Sac.
Every single day all of the parks in east sac are treated like dog parks, with multiple dogs off leash. It's just too dangerous! Something has to change!
Having a dog park is a valuable resource for our community. It helps connect people and neighbors and makes the community stronger.
East Sac needs a dog park that is safe within our ES community. Sutter’s landing is unsafe due to and I will not go there.

Please create a space for dogs to run off leash and get them out of our parks where our kids play. Too many dogs running off leash near kids. Too many irresponsible dog owners thinking unleashed dogs near kids are ok.
