Please add your support by signing this ipetition in hope that we could use the grounds of the derelict Barrett Middle School building [located between Deshler and Thurman streets in Merion Village] as a wonderful off leash dog park. Showing support for this matter will serve several purposes whether this happens or not - so please consider the following: 1. your signature will highlight the need for a downtown off leash dog park we so desperately need. 2. your signature will highlight the fact that Schiller Park is currently stretched to the max - with joggers / cyclists / fisherman / picnickers / open air theater. Even if you are not a dog friendly person, even if you hate the presence of off leash dogs in Schiller, but enjoy the park, then by signing this ipetition you might get to enjoy the park with LESS dogs present if this becomes a reality! 3. your signature will show your concern for urban redevelopments of derelict properties that would otherwise be vacant and could become home to vandalism etc., (see current wave of gang graffiti being spray painted onto telephone poles in German and Merion Village). 4. your signature will show your support of your dog owning friends and neighbors.... like myself!
