Door Access – Residents’ Petition
Hi everyone,
A few of us have been discussing the ongoing issue with the intercom only opening one of the three entrance doors. This setup is causing real problems for residents, especially around emergency access, accessibility, and daily convenience.
To move this forward properly, I’ve prepared a short residents’ petition.
The petition asks Pocket Living and the Directors to submit a Variation of Condition to Croydon Council so the intercom can open all three entrance doors, including the lift‑lobby door.
Why this matters:
- Emergency services have been delayed because they cannot enter without someone going downstairs.
- Residents with mobility issues cannot safely let in carers, visitors, or paramedics.
- Deliveries, tradespeople, and guests cannot access the building without someone physically attending the ground floor.
- Several residents were shown during viewings that the intercom opened all doors.
- A secure, compliant solution exists that would not compromise safety.
What we are asking for:
1. A Variation of Condition application to Croydon Council.
2. A secure technical solution allowing the intercom to open all three doors.

At the moment, this is causing serious safety concerns. In emergencies, especially when residents are injured, sick, or have mobility problems, it is very difficult to go downstairs to open the doors manually. This could delay access for ambulances, paramedics, carers, or other emergency services. For health and safety reasons, we ask the council to urgently enable remote access to all three doors through the intercom system.
I find this really difficult to navigate especially when unwell or in emergency situations

Having to run down to the lobby every time I get a package or a visitor is a nightmare especially when I am working from home. It was definitely sold to us that the intercom worked for all doors. Please fix this asap.
