Dear Neighbors ,
The property located at 110 Oakridge Road has applied for commercial Dog Kennel operating 24 hours and boarding over 15 dogs . This will have a major impact and disturbance to Oakridge Road, Fern Hill, intersecting streets and the surrounding community. If you would like to save and preserve this peaceful community, please sign the petition and raise your concern. There is a permit hearing at the Bristol City Hall on 9/12 at 7pm. We will all have to raise our voice and concern. I hope by signing this petition, will deter the potential new business in our residential community.
1. There will be an ongoing seven days a week traffic to and from the home.
2. Constant Noise pollution ( barking) day and night Over 15 dogs
3. Disturbance to the community- Peace and Quiet will be gone
4. Liability to neighborhood and any livestocks
5. Decrease in your property value
6. Residential neighborhood should remain residential. High taxes should uphold the area as a non-commercial zone.

Please sign up and raise your voice. Do not let this happen to our community as this kennel business will make high profit at our loss and disturbance.

I have spent the last few days talking to neighbors who are just as worried about the noise and traffic as my own family is. We are compiling notes on the zoning history of Oakridge Road to show the planning board exactly why this commercial use is a mistake for our homes.

Seeing this level of support for our neighborhood shows me that I am not alone in fearing for our peace and quiet. It means everything to see so many of you fighting to protect the homes we have worked so hard to build.

I just became aware of this situation and application for a kennel and I truly feel that this is not the place for a kennel. We have been residents of the neighborhood for 28 years and would not like the peace and tranquility of our homes to be affected by this .

Not appropriate for a residential neighborhood with all the homes zoned as R15 to R25. Introducing a busy commercial business will erode residential property values and make the neighborhood less attractive to families.

I also am strongly opposed to a dog kennel in my neighborhood, let alone on my street I live on. I do not need one more thing to worry about, such as an aggressive dog from the kennel getting loose and roaming the area. My small children, ages one and three, play outside just a few houses away from this residence, and my own dog with an electric fence is often outside all day. This is no place to open a dog kennel.

The safety of my young children is of up most concern. In further research of the permit application this business specialized in training aggressive dogs. This is not a normal kennel/boarding operation.

The definite increase in traffic through this quiet residential neighborhood, that is a dead end street, for a business is not appropriate. The likely increase in noise due to the barking is not fair to all the neighbors who have an expectation of ‘quiet’ because they bought their house on a dead end street in a residential area without a dog kennel next door.

It's a beautiful neighborhood and no business belongs there!

I’m very opposed to having a commercial business on a street that is zoned residential. Not even sure why Bristol is allowing a hearing? Extremely concerned about the noise, extra traffic and the potential for dangerous dogs running loose in a quiet neighborhood. We need Bristol property values to increase, not decrease. Having a commercial business in a residential neighborhood would certainly reduce the value of these homes. Concerned, Matt Lewis
