Karen & Tim Price, owners of South Paws Doggie Daycare, at 275 Oak Street, propose to allow Outfront Media to erect a freestanding LED Sign measuring 48’ long and 14’ high on a small portion of our property. The Sign will be abutting Route 3, between the retention pond and the building, and will be visible to traffic on Route 3.

Outfront Media proposes to give the Town up to fifteen hours of free advertising space per month on the Sign. This will allow the Town to inform residents of special town events, PSAs, weather advisories, etc. Outfront Media has also offered additional revenue to the Town.

The Sign will not detract from the Town’s natural scenic and aesthetic qualities. It will be in an industrial neighborhood, facing traffic on Route 3, and will not affect any residential neighborhoods. Both the Town and its residents will be positively impacted by the greater communication opportunities allowed for through its monthly use of the Sign, as well as additional revenue provided by Outfront Media.

These signs are highly regulated by the state of MA and there are very strict guidelines for placement. There can only be one Sign built in Pembroke. However, if the town does not take advantage of this opportunity, Marshfield will be able to erect signs on both sides of Route 3. We feel one sign generating revenue and opportunities for Pembroke is a preferable alternative to leaving the door open for Marshfield to erect two signs and reap all the available benefits.

If you are a Pembroke resident or business in support of this proposal, we ask for your signature on our electronic petition. The contact information will not be used for marketing purposes. The petition will be presented to the ZBA and BOS during hearings concerning this matter. As business owners and residents of Pembroke, we sincerely appreciate your consideration and support.

Reaching this point has been an exhausting uphill climb but seeing the momentum grow gives me the resolve to keep pushing forward. The opposition is loud and digging in their heels but your persistence shows that we refuse to let this decision happen without a fight.

I have read many comments on the Marshfield town page and if the town will get same Benifits as Marshfield I think this is a great idea for pembroke to jump on!

I support this project entirely! It will be a great benefit for getting the word out about a myriad of events as well as a tool for businesses in town to cultivate more customers.

Great idea and especially beneficial to have 15 free hours of messaging to traffic for the town and its committees!

This sign would generate more tax revenue for the town than a recreational pot shop with little or no negative impact to the town.

So true Art. The only view it might obstruct is that of the huge cell tower on the Marshfield side. Now that thing is ugly!

I support this project and hope we can add other small versions around town.
