We are looking to keep a section of Bartel Road a residential neighborhood. Maintain our quality of life and investments in our homes.
The Town of Cicero Planning Board is considering a proposal to allow at 9360 Bartel Road a dog kennel/boarding facility for up to 25 dogs. In addition to the kennel a second business on site will be for dog grooming. The proposal also includes a large sign on Bartel Road.
We support this type of business in a commercial area but not in a residential neighborhood with families. We are looking to maintain our investments in our homes and property value. Allowing this commercial business on property not zoned for this use will open up the opportunities for other business in the area. With Oneida Shores in the area this section of Bartel Road is used heavily for recreational use such as biking, running, and walking so an increase in traffic will have an negative impact.
Please help us support in keeping Bartel Road a residential neighborhood and signing the petition below. Thank you for your time.

I am honestly overwhelmed by how many neighbors feel the same way about our street. This momentum belongs entirely to you and I am just humbled to see all these people standing up for our homes.

No one wants to live near a kennel with 25 dogs barking all night long. There are so many vacant commercial places available within 2 miles of this location, there is NO NEED to allow this in a residential area.
As property manager in Central Square, I have and see commercial spaces for rent everyday. Businesses should have no problem finding space/ land suitable to their needs in the local area. NO need to rezone residential to commercial. Its called 'Spot zoning' which goes against the towns Master zoning plan. The Planing Board should know it would be unethical to allow this business in and show favoritism towards that particular business/ person(s).
There is no practical reason to add a nonessential/ non public service business such as this to a residential section.

I vote no to a dog kennel (or any commercial business) in a residential area. I especially don’t want barking dogs within hearing distance of my home.
Residents should feel confident that when they choose to live in a community the aspirations of others do not impact their lives or the value of their homes. Those who want to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams should do it where the rules already apply.
I am all for business and growth but I do not feel that this belongs in a residential neighborhood there has got to be another option.

Increased traffic, increased noise, directly across from Miralago..all residential neighborhood. The entrance to proposed business is 40' from where a school bus picks up/ drops of young children.
