Proposed Dog Boarding Establishment Longwood Office Plaza
We ask the Colleyville City Council to reject the proposed Special Use Permit for a dog boarding and grooming facility with an outdoor dog run at 7181 Colleyville Boulevard, adjacent to our community, and to protect the nearby neighborhood from the noise, traffic, and daily disruption this use would bring.
This proposal is scheduled for public hearings on September 1 and September 15 at 7:00 PM at City Hall, located at 100 Main Street, Colleyville, Texas. We urge everyone who values the peace and character of this area to speak up before those hearings and make their concerns known.
A dog boarding facility with an outdoor dog run is not a quiet, low-impact use. It can bring constant barking, more vehicle traffic, frequent drop-offs and pick-ups, and activity that affects the comfort of nearby residents and businesses. Even with good management, outdoor dog runs can create ongoing disturbance that is hard for neighboring properties to avoid.
Our community deserves thoughtful planning that respects the people who live and work nearby. Once this kind of use is approved, the impacts are difficult to undo. The Council should listen to residents and deny this application rather than place an incompatible business use next to our community.
We ask the Council to stand with the community, preserve the quality of life in this area, and refuse the proposed Special Use Permit at 7181 Colleyville Boulevard.

Case ZC26-019 fails this fundamental standard due to the irreconcilable nuisance of an outdoor pet run in a professional office environment.
