Proposed Dog Boarding Establishment Longwood Office Plaza
We ask the Colleyville City Council to reject the proposed Special Use Permit for a dog boarding and grooming facility with an outdoor dog run at 7181 Colleyville Boulevard, adjacent to our community, and to protect the nearby neighborhood from the noise, traffic, and daily disruption this use would bring.
This proposal is scheduled for public hearings on September 1 and September 15 at 7:00 PM at City Hall, located at 100 Main Street, Colleyville, Texas. We urge everyone who values the peace and character of this area to speak up before those hearings and make their concerns known.
A dog boarding facility with an outdoor dog run is not a quiet, low-impact use. It can bring constant barking, more vehicle traffic, frequent drop-offs and pick-ups, and activity that affects the comfort of nearby residents and businesses. Even with good management, outdoor dog runs can create ongoing disturbance that is hard for neighboring properties to avoid.
Our community deserves thoughtful planning that respects the people who live and work nearby. Once this kind of use is approved, the impacts are difficult to undo. The Council should listen to residents and deny this application rather than place an incompatible business use next to our community.
We ask the Council to stand with the community, preserve the quality of life in this area, and refuse the proposed Special Use Permit at 7181 Colleyville Boulevard.

My house is in the closest neighborhood to this location, just over the fence to the industrial offices. Certainly within earshot of barking dogs. I don’t want to hear even one barking dog while my family is trying to sleep at night, Nevermind 50, 100, 300 dogs! Bottom line; this neighborhood does not want this, it violates a city ordinance and we will seek every legal remedy to prevent it from happening. And it’s not necessary either. Both Bridgets Pet resort & Posh Paw are ONE MILE down 26.
Unnecessary traffic added to the already narrow streets of Longwood plaza plus there are couple of dog boarding down the road.
Because we are in a profesional office building environment. This will only bring noise, smells, unwanted traffic, and reduce value of real estate.
Special Use Permits are intended solely for uses that harmoniously integrate with neighboring properties without causing detriment to surrounding property owners. Case ZC26-019 fails this fundamental standard due to the irreconcilable nuisance of an outdoor pet run in a professional office environment.
In this peaceful quiet area of Colleyville the dog boarding facility will definitely introduce noisy barking day and night, odor and will attract flies to the professional offices, food shops and the nearest homes on the other side of the fence.
This is not the best use of this land The city council needs to stop worrying about sales tax opportunities and instead correctly Spend the property tax base that Colleyville provides
The dog boarding project on colleville boulevard and Longwood drive violates city ordinance that prohibits this type of business. There are residents there who are older families who are home during the daytime and they will find this very disruptive during the daytime

Being in the development industry I am generally unbothered by most SUP requests when they are uniform to other uses generally allowed in commercial/residential areas. Dog boarding facilities are not. This is a neighborhood commercial/office development. Dog Boarding facilities are a nuisance to the surrounding neighborhood and restaurant/professional offices adjacent to the proposed site. They come with loud noise at all times of the day, unpleasant odors, and are known to lower property values
