This petition is to address and finalize the issue of parking in Golden. City parking shall always be free and no meter or other payment system shall be put in place for the streets, lots, and parking garages that our tax dollars paid for. Free parking will help small businesses and our citizens to thrive and be happy. There shall be no revenue generated from parking in Golden.

I am honestly stunned by how many of you feel the same way about keeping our streets accessible for everyone. This momentum belongs entirely to the people who took the time to speak up for our local shops and neighbors.

What a disservice to every merchant, and every employee. Most of these mom and pop businesses cannot afford to pay employees a great wage. Paid for parking will negatively affect these employees. People like to meander around golden, this takes time to visit these small shops. Golden will once again become a ghost town.
Free parking is a necessity. If parking is a problem (which it is) stop building more housing downtown, stop pandering to tourism and stop trying to offload the problem on the citizens and employees of Golden.
I have lived in Golden all of my 58 years and I don't think we as tax payers should have to pay for what we already have paid for.
Free parking has helped bolster the tourism boom in golden over the years. Golden has a reputation for being a laid back mountain(like) town, great for day trips. Our parks and recreation have been easily accessible to people who wouldn't otherwise be able to experience them. Golden is a relatively wealthy municipality who budgets well. There is no reason to charge for parking.
Paid parkIng will hurt locals and small businesses. the real problem is CSM parking. we can either address that by making all of us pay or by pressuring them to address the issue.
This parking debacle has cost the businesses dearly. People do not have time to shop and eat so somebody loses out. It's usually the small business
Free parking is what separates Golden from other tourist cities like Boulder and Denver! Don't Boulder my Golden.

Do not Boulder our Golden. Allow people to visit this beautiful down without the annoyance of paid parking, please.
