The momentum behind this fight proves the City Commission cannot ignore us anymore. They think they can squeeze every last cent out of local business owners but they are dead wrong.

As a small business owner located on Main Street, I know parking is an issue for Downtown Bozeman. However, requiring visitors and Montanans to pay for parking on the street is not the solution to the parking problem. The solution is building another multi level garage facility; additional signage indicating the street level lots and ease of negotiating the available parking. Additionally, clearing the snow from the top two levels of the Black/Mendenhall garage will allow for more parking during the winter.
I strongly oppose instituting paid parking downtown. It will be very damaging to downtown businesses and properties. I am majority owner of the Baxter and also the Bacchus Pub business.
If parking were always impossible to find, this may be warranted, but as of now, it's still possible to park nearby when needed. Don't add this burdensome headache and point of public conflict over inevitable parking fines just to collect a few extra bucks. Like others are saying, this isn't Seattle and hopefully never will be!
Let’s not become like every other metropolis nickel and diming the people who live there JUST to park. Montana is a rural state where most people have to drive to get to town. This is not Seattle with a public transport system that encourages people to use that instead. Just no.
To raise funds without negatively impacting Bozeman residents and those who work downtown, increase the hotel use tax and add a or increase the tax on rental vehicles for those renting vehicles at Bozeman airport or in town with out of state drivers licenses. That’ll target tourists who use our services without negatively impacting residents.
I don't see how Bozeman needs more funds with the amount of propert taxes collected each year. This is just one more tax disguised as a fee that will make life just dollars a day more difficult for the citizenry. Please do the right thing and let this go. No to paid parking downtown! Life is Downton. Please don't kill it with one more cut to the thousand already imposed.
Free downtown parking gives our wonderful town a small community feel. With so much change, it’s nice to hang on to simple, old school and wonderful. Thanks.

Until the city builds more accessible parking for our downtown customers there should not be a charge for the small amount of parking currently available The neighborhoods do not want more parking on their streets. Bozeman is growing and the city administration doesn’t seem to be ahead of the growth in their planning.
