Knysna Mall has announced plans to introduce paid parking - a move that will directly impact local shoppers, workers, and small businesses. We believe parking at Knysna Mall should remain free. Paid parking will discourage residents and visitors from supporting local shops, increase costs for employees who work in the mall, and make everyday errands unnecessarily expensive for our community.
Knysna is a small town built on community connection and local support. Free parking helps keep our town centre vibrant and accessible to everyone - from pensioners to families.
By signing this petition, you are asking Knysna Mall management to reconsider this decision and maintain free, accessible parking for all.
Let’s keep Knysna’s main shopping hub open, welcoming, and affordable.
Although the Mall will do well during holiday season with Visitors from other cities that are used to paid parking the locals will look at other alternative areas to do their shopping such as Fruit and Veg and the new Checkers Complex. This will only be seen once holiday Visitors return home and will result in the Mall loosing long term support.

Local residents and pensioners are not happy with this. Forsee further business lost as shoppers go elsewhere or use delivery services. Mall has already lost much support. Wonder what the business tenants think?

Going to be a logistical nightmare with congestion in roads to mall. Also ridiculous that staff working at the mall must allegedly pay R600 p.m. to park there!

George or Plettenberg have free parking at all shopping centres, so why must we have to pay for parking in Knysnsa. Not user friendly for residence.

Can you imagine this, in season, when out of towners, regular visitors to the town, are confused & hold up THE N2 THROUGH KNYSNA while they try to figure out what's potting.....

Tried to install a ticket system before....didn't work! Knysna is not a city. I think shop owners should have a vote. Their sales will be directly impacted if the community shops elsewhere!
