Our school dress code is too strict and very gender biased. If a boy ever wore a tank top or even leggings the chance of them getting dress coded compared to a girl is extremely low. Those signing below believe when student wear leggings at Plaza Middle they are intended as appropriate pants; not as something that should be extremely skin tight. As for tank tops, the current dress code makes it seem as if we all wear inappropriate sleeveless tops considered to be as revealing as a crop top or camisole. How are shoulders distracting to other students in a learning environment? This petition would not eliminate the dress code rules but loosen them. You could change the no tank top rule to a three finger width rule and put the old rule back in place where when wearing leggings, something has to cover your backside. Our dress code is extremely gender biased and that's definitely not fair. It's convenient to just put on a pair of leggings and a shirt and then run out the door.
Our dress code is too strict, and I hope we xan find a way to change it. Gowever I wouldnt advise people to wear crop tops. The legging rule is bad though, especially for someone with long arms.
This is 100% true and it's not fair that schools get to discriminate against girls because boys get "distracted" when they really don't. It takes away from the girls education.
In any normal working environment there won't be a dress code as strict as this. People have to work through the "distractions."
I absolutely agree. If the school thinks girls should not wear leggings or skirts because of guys, then maybe they should be taught that we aren't an object.
I just now saw this.if the goal is 200 and there is over 200 then we're the rules changed yet

There should be leggings aloud because skinny jeans are pretty much the same thing but a different fabric and it doesn't have pockets
