The council confirmed today that the new speed limit will be installed on the A50 through our village. Walking to the mailbox with my children will finally feel safe instead of like a gamble. Thank you for helping me protect our home.

Campaign for the implementation of a 50mph speed limit on the A50 in Smallwood.

We, the undersigned, request Cheshire East Council, give consideration to our concerns (to be detailed in covering letter) and implement a revised 50mph speed limit on the A50 through Smallwood.
We consider that Smallwood meets the Cheshire East Speed Management Strategy ref 4.2 Rural Principal & Distributor Routes due to the quality of the road, with a number of bends, junctions and accesses which indicates a 50mph speed limit should apply.

I drive this stretch every single day and the near misses are far too frequent to ignore. I am currently compiling your personal accounts of dangerous encounters on these bends to include in the formal report for the council.

Seeing this level of support reminds me exactly why I started this fight after what happened to my neighbor on that road. This momentum proves that our community is tired of waiting for a tragedy to force a change.

The vehicles travel far to quickly, pulling out from our drive is hazardous due to the speed. Vehicles seem to crash regularly damaging people's property, this is totally unacceptable. 50mph is a must for the safety of all residents and their property.
Very dangerous section of road. I take my life into my own hands when walking my dogs along the very narrow footpath along the A50 through Smallwood.
The speed limit must be reduced, as my wall has been crashed into several times due to high speed of traffic. My property also shakes when fast traffic passes on this road. Entering and leaving my property is also a big safety issue.
Something needs to be done about the speed limit. We've only lived here for just over 1 month, and already been witness to 2 accidents. Cars, trucks, motorbikes - use the 'straight' right outside our house to overtake at a hell of a speed.
Speed cars go on the main A50 is ridiculous. Dangerous for my customers pulling out of our farm shop drive.
See so many accidents here over the last 25 years!
It should have speed cameras along the A50 as well as a reduced speed limit. It is very dangerous when trying to get out of the drive

There have been 15+ accidents which have occurred within a 15-20 metre radius on and around our property on the A50 in Smallwood in under 4 years. These issues don't only affect the people who live on the A50 but other road and pavement users. We have been lucky to avoid injury on our own property so far and the same applies to other residents and road users.
