We the undersigned support the assesment and potential reduction of speed limits on our local village roads.

Updates

October 31, 2016

I was just out walking the dog near the corner of Main and it felt like a race track again which is exactly why we are doing this. People keep telling me their own stories about near misses while I try to figure out who in the town office actually has the power to sign off on a speed study.

I really thought this might just fizzle out but the response has been honestly wild lately. It feels like people are finally realizing how dangerous Smallwood has become when you have cars flying past like they are on a runway and it makes me want to get this in front of the council immediately.

I live on church lane and work at Smallwood c.p and unfortunately due to the speed and amount of traffic and no footpaths myself and my daughter are unable to walk to work as been forced into the hedge on several occasions

After 8 cars ending up in our garden demolishing walls our own vehicles and our garden etc. We had more then enough of the speed on the A 50 trough Smallwood, the council blaims it on drivers error, How many more times do we have to experience this.

My wife was hit by a car on Congleton Road this year, Summer 2016. Two cars met on a narrow piece of road while she was running and both were travelling too fast to stop. This was reported to the police.

It was our son who had the accident on Childs Lane . I think it is appalling that nothing has been done about the way cars speed along that road. It was estimated that the car that hit our son was travelling at at least 60mph. Please lets not have another accident like that.

I feel I am risking my life every time I pull out of Pools Lane into Congleton Road. Its a difficult enough junction to use due to poor visability but when you add in the speed of drivers taking advantage of the only bit of straight road.... it is truly frightening.....

Many more people are using the country lanes to avoid the congestion on the A. Roads. With the amount of new houses/housing estates popping up all over Cheshire this is only going to get worse. A speed limit on our local roads is well overdue.
